First Day of Preschool !!!!

The first day of preschool has arrived and it's time for Anvesha to begin an educational journey that will last nearly two decades.  Although it is the middle of the school year, we still enrolled her to TLC Montessori since she is ready for school now. Although, Montessori philosophy  is a very new concept for me, I am sure it will be good for Anvesha in the formative years. I have the preschool checklist ticked off, clothes ready, backpack ready, lunchbox ready and most importantly, camera ready to click loads of pics on this big day :)

Here are few glimpses  from this morning...

Anvesha all excited to get ready for her first day of preschool, errrrr.... rather, "last first day of school". We got her this sign board especially for the first day of school photos ;)

After all the photo session, I continued the tradition of giving 'dahi cheeni', the way mom used to give us at the start of any important day like exams, long distance travel etc. Anvesha took everyone's blessings and prayed in front of our temple before starting for school.

My little girl has become big and it's an emotional moment for me as a mom and so I just wanted to leave a note for Anvesha to read when she grows up.

"My little monster,

Today you wore your best attire with a small addition of a hot pink backpack. You walked out of the car into the door of your first day of preschool. You will perhaps put your backpack neatly in your cubby, open your jacket and follow all instructions gracefully. You will do all this and more with coaching, I am sure- but it won't be from me.

Today was your first day at preschool and I am glad and relieved that it went without shedding a tear.My heart was so full of joy to see how excited you were to enter those classroom doors to meet your teacher.I held back tears, hid at the lobby, just to catch a last glimpse of you as you step into your educational journey.Today, I released you into the world and your circle of influence will increase in the coming few months. As I write this note to you, I am staring at the clock relentlessly just to wait to come back and pick you up. I want to listen intently as you tell me all about what you did on your first day of school.

Please remember that it does not matter how popular you are. What does matter is always treating others with kindness and respect. THAT is what you will want to be remembered by. Dream big and shoot for the stars. Always set goals and work your hardest to achieve them. I’ll always believe in you because I am your biggest fan.

Can't wait to meet you after school now.

Stay Blessed Always..... love Mamma".
